That year, on the occasion of the Salone della Responsabilità e The future dell’Innovazione sociale at UniBocconi , I organized and moderated a round table composed of top-level protagonists. The theme, then as now, was the relationship between profit and nonprofit but then, certainly more than today, that of CSR was a frontier still to be explored. At that time, although the years gone by are not that many, that of corporate social responsibility was the exclusive The future prerogative of the largest and most advanced companies with an international vision, culture and the necessary resources (both human and economic) capable of supporting it.

It was 2016, I was saying, and among these companies there was already Leroy Merlin with its ability to establish virtuous relationships with local territories. Luca Pereno (in the group photo here beside, the second from the left), CSR manager of the company and now also director of (RI)GENERIAMO Srl Società Benefit, in explaining to the audience what the relationship between profit and nonprofit meant to him, used a metaphor that struck me a lot at the time and to black friday 2021: the positive trend in e-commerce continues which I have referred several times since then, always attributing the paternity of the intuition to its creator:

A company and an organization – he explained – the alb directory first is the “key” and the second is the “lock”. Only thanks to the right key for the right lock can a door open. In the same way, the company makes economic resources available so that the organization can carry out its work in the best possible way.
In other words,
that everyone does well what they know and, in doing so, shows what they are; in a perspective of reciprocity and balance in which each actor involved comes out a winner.
